In the hustle of running a business, many entrepreneurs find themselves caught in a cycle where every aspect of their operations demands their constant attention. This not only hampers growth but also affects profitability. In this case study, we explore how strategic shifts in time management, supported by professional video production and editing services, can enhance business value and profitability.
Tom, a business owner striving to improve his operational efficiency and profitability, opted for our monthly YouTube marketing and growth service. His decision to film his own content under our creative direction and then hand it off to our team of experts for editing, design, SEO optimization, and distribution allowed him to focus on high-value activities. The goal was to track and analyze video performance metrics to ensure growth and guide the audience from engagement to becoming qualified leads and paying customers.
To build a business that operates independently, it’s crucial to make strategic shifts in time management. Based on the principles of operational efficiency and insights from Adrienne and Mike Michalowicz’s "Run Like Clockwork," here are four ways Tom shifted his time to make his business more profitable:
Tom used a simple step-by-step debrief developed by our team to track and analyze his time. This process involved:

Tom’s experience demonstrates how strategic time management, combined with professional support services, can transform a business. By tracking and analyzing time usage, delegating routine tasks, automating processes, and focusing on high-value activities, entrepreneurs can enhance operational efficiency and profitability.
To build a business to run
itself without you, there are
four ways to start shifting your
time to make your business more
valuable. But before we jump in,
make sure to watch this video
linked here, where I show you
how to use the four d mix
framework of our run like
clockwork system to track and
categorize your time. So now
that you've tracked your time,
it's time to actually dig into
this data, it's not useful to
simply track it without taking
the next step to review it and
take some appropriate actions.
We've developed a super simple
step by step debrief for you to
discover how your time is spent,
and then what to do next.
Remember, this is valuable
information. So make sure you
look at it closely. Collecting
data and information like this
is only useful if you do
something with it. So let's dive
in. Hi, I'm Adrienne with run
like clockwork, and we believe
it's time to stop feeling
overwhelmed and overworked. As
business owners, the world needs
you to step up as the visionary
leader you are. So if you're
ready to create a streamlined,
successful business that can run
without you, then you're in the
right place similar to the four
ds of do decide delegate and
design. There are also four T's
that we're going to talk about
to help you clean up your
schedule, and spend your time in
even more valuable ways. Trash,
trim, transfer, and treasure. So
after completing your time
tracking, ask yourself for my
tasks, what can I trash? What
can I completely get rid of?
What can I completely stop doing
that won't have a negative
effect on the business, then I
want you to think about what can
I trim? How can I lighten up or
simplify some of the things that
we do? Parkinson's Law states
that a task will expand or
contract with the amount of time
that we give it? So what could
you give more constraints give
something less time by trimming
it. Next is treasure. What do I
want to treasure? What are the
tasks that are really the most
valuable for me to be doing? And
therefore they should stay on my
plates? And finally, what can I
transfer? What can I move off of
my plate entirely? In order to
delegate that to someone else?
It's kind of like asking, Okay,
if this needs to be done, does
it really need to be done by me?
And if not, let's transfer it to
someone else. Transfer is a key
part of this process because you
can delegate decision making and
doing tasks to free up your
time. As you transfer. You may
also ask, what types of tasks do
I actually want to transfer? How
many hours of work do I want to
transfer? And do I currently
have someone on the team who can
do these tasks? Or is there an
opportunity to hire someone
here, if you have someone
available, then it's time to
delegate. If there's a gap and
opportunity, then it's time to
create a job description and
hire someone. So as you evaluate
your time and become focused on
making many key shifts, take
note on whether everything you
do is worth trashing, trimming,
treasuring or transferring. And
as you make these changes, be
grateful for the amount of hours
you've just reclaimed. And now
what you can do with all of this
available time is start spending
it in more valuable places for
the business or take some much
needed time off. Let me know
where you're currently at in
this process in the comments
below. Thanks for watching.
