Most people and brands struggle to get the visibility and attention they need to stand out and grow their business.
Often, this makes them feel overwhelmed as they try to do all the things to grow a business that matters while serving their audience with great products and a powerful message.
It's difficult to be successful with video without a clear plan and knowledge about how video, marketing, and messaging actually works to attract and genuinely sell an audience of buyers.
Welcome to the video marketing
Made Easy podcast rebuild video
is the most powerful way to
monetize your message stand out
in the market and grow your
business. Today we're going to
talk about common myths behind
successful videos. So let's dive
in. The first myth about
successful video creation is
that you need a cinematic visual
started probably shortly after
2000. Close to 2007, eight were
iPhones became a thing
smartphones became a thing to
DSLR is becoming more powerful
for digital video creation,
before that, everything was done
on film. And so the access to
affordable equipment wasn't
really there. And so now as we
have expanded upon the tools and
making them more accessible to
everyday people, you know, think
of drones and how cheap and easy
and amazing they are to make
them look cinematic to how
affordable phones are and how
cinematic and amazing those
video images can be. To then
having social media platforms
like Instagram, tik tok,
Snapchat, YouTube, the list goes
on, that allow people to simply
use their mobile phone, to
capture great looking visuals
and to get a message out there.
So all this to say this
cinematic visual is no longer
essential to create a successful
video. And then you may ask,
okay, well, what does a
successful video look like? That
all depends on what your
marketing plan is what purpose
you have behind your video,
maybe want brand awareness for
your nonprofit or the mission
that you have, maybe you want
with that brand. That brand
awareness, more video views so
that way people can watch,
engage, and then take action by
maybe going to a job post that
you're sharing or visiting your
product or service sales page.
Maybe it's the amount of sales
you want to generate, which
often is the main case for
videos and content, you want to
capture that attention, get
people captured as a lead and
then of course, make a sell. So
identifying what that purpose is
and recognizing in the process
of creating a video. To make it
successful, you do not need a
cinematic, high, expensive
looking visual. That production
value has a time and place and
has a purpose that maybe allow
your branded look to be more
professional. But it's not
required for every single video,
you may use your webcam if
you're doing a follow up message
in a sales process. So focus on
not having the cinematic visual,
stopping you from simply
creating videos and then
creating videos that will be
successful. The second myth is
the length of videos. videos can
be as short as one to a few
seconds like an a GIF, or an
Instagram story all the way to a
full length feature film to get
your message out there. So
there's really not a specific or
correct answer. And some answers
are customized for the platform
that you are publishing the
video on from YouTube to
streaming platforms to
Instagram, tik tok. Again, this
is a big myth. And the more you
can forget about the importance
of having a specific length and
more just getting your message
out there and getting it out
there in the most concise way
possible. And then customizing
it for the platform that will
help guide your video length,
and in return give you more
success for your video content.
And the third common myth around
what makes a successful video is
that you need hired talent.
A lot of people want to hire
actors or people that are not
themselves to be on camera and
present their message. Again,
that has a time and place maybe
you're doing a commercial spot.
And you want your message to be
conveyed in a professional or
comedic way. But at the end of
the day, with part of our
mission being to make business
more human, more personable. In
order to do that, you and your
team need to be on camera and to
interact with your potential
customers or your paying
customers so that way they can
know love and trust you. And so
don't go off and hire a
surrogate CEO or representative
for your business. Particularly
because most videos will not
call for that. People want to
connect with you and the people
that are truly behind the brand
and not some hired actor. And
then another myth. The fourth
myth is budget. This is a big
one. People feel like they need
the biggest budget to make the
most professional video but far
too often. Nowadays. Especially
you can turn the cheapest video
that required no investment
maybe filmed it on a webcam Your
phone, the tools you currently
have. And then you turn that
into a paid ad and it generated
a lot more revenue or return on
adspend. Versus say, you hiring
a professional film crew to do
it all for you. At the end of
the day, the script and the
message is the most powerful
piece and how you go and
distribute that message. So the
intention behind your ad buying
or social media strategies, how
you're publishing it, and
getting it out there to the
masses, but how it's filmed and
the budget that goes into that
production is not essential. And
it's a big myth that can keep
many held back from actually
creating videos that can be
successful to help you grow your
business. So if you find that
your marketing efforts as
relates to video, that you use
some of these myths in some ways
excuses from simply creating
video content, getting your
message out there for your
business, then, identify your
number one and fix it now. And
so as you do that, you'll find
that you'll be able to create
more of a video supply inside of
your business to show up
consistently. get your message
out there, get it monetized and
grow your business as a result.
