Want to create more content, but not sure where to start?
Maybe you don't have the equipment, or maybe you just feel overwhelmed with the idea of creating an entire video from scratch.
I get it. That's why I'm a big fan of talking head videos.
A Talking Head video is when you have someone (typically yourself) on camera to talk directly to the viewer, as if they were in the room with you. This is one of the most basic ways to create content and something that I recommend doing often. They're easy, fun, and great for connecting with your audience.
Here are a few ways to make your talking head videos better.
Let's talk about how to create the best talking head videos for your business. Welcome to Video Marketing Made Easy where we believe videos the most powerful way to monetize your message, stand out the market and grow your business. So when it comes to creating videos for any type of business out there, a talking head video is probably one of the most common and popular types of videos because it puts the face of someone on camera, a face that you can connect with the video you're watching right now with me, this is an example of a talking head video. I am the head right here, and I am talking to you. Oftentimes, you see talking to videos exist in sells messages, online course trainings, documentary style videos, company messages, the list goes on, there are a variety different uses for talking heads, and oftentimes, they're the most effective to build up a connection quickly. So in order to create your best talking head video, let's talk about some quick tips you can implement today for the next time you go to film yourself, or be filmed by a team like video supply. First, you want to make sure that you have your message or script ready to go. Without knowing what you're going to say in your video, you're going to be kind of lost in look less prepared and less confident on camera. But when you have some clear talking points and objectives behind, this is my starting point of the video. This is my middle and this is my end, then you can constantly show up and know what you're gonna say. So you may have a message of talking points or a word for word script read from a teleprompter, the next step is audio. Toggling ahead messages would not be possible without being able to hear what's been spoken by the spokesperson that that talking head on camera, so you need to invest in a quality microphone quality audio. Yes, people may be on social media scroll ID, and they're not going to know what's being said. But they're going to need to know it as soon as they click on that audio icon and allow your beautiful voice to be heard. Oftentimes, you'll be able to grab their attention with some big popup graphics, some captions on the screen, so that way they can start to read visually connect with the message, but then take the next step and want to hear your voice. Eventually they're going to hear it they whether it's you or a spokesperson for your company. The next step is having a quality camera quality camera is subjective, because there are hundreds of different brands and models out there have cameras to use. Starting with your phone most people have if not all people have a smartphone with a great camera on it. Or a webcam, which is often not as good as your phone or may be a member of our team at video supply behind the camera doing a professional shoot for your next campaign or talking head video. for whatever purpose it may be considering the cinematography. And the camera choice is important because you want yourself to look good on camera, and without a camera, then there's no way to create a talking head video. Another thing to keep in mind is your lighting. talking head videos are all about a subject talent, a person on camera. And if the viewer can't see the face of the person presenting the message that talking head, then first off is not a targeted video because they can't see them. And second off, you lose professionalism, you lose authority, you lose the ability for people to be able to hear and connect with the message being shared. So use lighting, whether it's a big softbox and light source like this, or it's your window, or whatever it may be to light your face to light the face of the subject in the talking head so that way, not only is the message heard, but it's also seen. Another essential part of talking about videos is the framing. You see because what I'm speaking is the message and I am the focus in this framing I am centered up almost directly in the middle. If you were to break this up into thirds or lines, you see that my nose right between here although my face may not be symmetrical, my body can look symmetrical in the framing of the camera. So consider putting yourself in the middle third of the camera with comfortable headroom not too much above your head between here and the top of the frame. Secondary option could be putting yourself on the right or the left third of the frame. And because talking to edit videos are all about the message being shared the energy from a human and not an animation that it comes down to preparing the talent whether that's you or a hired spokesperson feel comfortable and confident on camera. This comes down to having. Get all the other pieces in place, specially that scripted message, but also the location choice, the wardrobe choice, doing some voice exercises and energy build up before the recording. If you feel like you're doing too much energy and on camera, I feel like that sometimes, it's important to show that kind of energy though, so people can feel like, Hey, this is engaging enough that maybe I'll keep watching. So those are some ideas and tips around how to create the best talking head videos. Don't want this long list of ideas and strategies about how to create the best targeted videos hold you back from simply hitting record. Maybe just start with one tip at a time, implement that and then go to the next one until you feel so confident in your ability to create professional, high performing, talking to edit videos that they become second nature and they're easy for you.
