Content Marketing is the biggest opportunity we have as marketers to build massive businesses and a meaningful professional impact.
But how do you get started on the right foot?
There are a ton of moving pieces and questions that can trip you up if you don't know what you are doing.
In this video, I will walk through the key steps required to build your own content marketing team from scratch.
Start with defining your strategy, building a content oriented organization around that strategy, hiring creatives and developing processes to scale your content efforts at any size business.
When it comes to creating videos efficiently and professionally, you need to rely on having a content team. And I look at a content team in three phases. The first type of team is a team of one. So this is you, you're a solopreneur, you're just starting out, and you need to build the right project management solutions, the automations the tools to make you far more efficient in your video production process, I'm going to share some systems and project management solutions with you that you can literally copy and paste and use in your own business. So that way, your videos kind of become a relay race, meaning thing about like the baton, you have the first runner, hands up to the second runner to the third runner and all the way to the finish line. Your videos can be the same experience through Project Management and automations, where the first team member being the person who scripts and plans videos, which often will be you dial in that message and hand off the baton, to those who are going to film the video, maybe that's you, again with being a team of one. And then as the filming is completed, then it's handed off to the next person who's going to edit the videos, once again, maybe that's you as a team of one, then it's going to be handed off to designers, writers, publishers, marketers, and all the way to the finish line, which is completing and optimizing the video, and even driving paid traffic to the video to get more engagement. So that's a really race to the team experience. So if you're a team of one, be realistic to know what you can handle what you have time to dedicate, dedicate to, because maybe your video workflow will be more simplified and have less editing involved, less publishing involved, and maybe you strictly go down the live streaming route. And you can go to Facebook, Instagram, to publish raw or live videos. As you're having success and you're beginning to grow your team, then you can start to outsource. So this is Team type number two is outsourcing. These team members are not necessarily full time, but they can work part time in your business. They are bought into your mission a little bit, but more so they're there to help you. And it's more of a transaction experience versus a transformational experience being a part of a culture or being an employee in your business. So these outsource team members can be found through Fiverr or Upwork, maybe virtual assistants sites, or maybe you have other business partners, or friends who can recommend different solutions where it's it's cheap, cheaper to begin with. Maybe they're in the States or overseas, outsource team members are often cheaper, they're more affordable. And as long as you plug them into some clear tools and systems that are working well and they know what their deliverables and outcomes are, then they can work pretty successfully for you and your business. To make sure your team goes through that relay race and get your videos efficiently published, I'll link some recommended resources down below as far as where you can find virtual assistants or outsource team members to get you started on moving from a team of one to an outsource team. Okay, so then now you're growing your business to growing and you can start to bring on more full time or employed team members. This is when you become a team of many. And this is really the sweet spot in a team structure because you can have a full fledged content team, not just related video, but to other pieces of content for your content strategy. These team members are going to include a filmmaker for cinematography, a video editor, a motion graphic designer, a graphic designer, a email writer, a copywriter, content writer, SEO strategist, link building strategist, Digital Marketer, social media manager, the list goes on. I'm going to provide all of those team recommendations and resources in the guide that goes along with this lesson. So that way you can pinpoint them, figure out what your ideal structure is to work for you during your team of many organization and growth there. And a way that helps you just be more efficient. If you have any questions about how to better organize your content team, whether you're a team of one or a team and many let me know in the comment section down below.
