Many brands and entrepreneurs struggle with video creation.
They either avoid it completely or upses over having everything perfect.
So they wait to hire a professional video crew to capture all their content with sporadic instagram stories and livestream in-between.
But there's a place in the middle that will separate those who stand out and grow their business, and those that don't.
I call them the solo creators. Those who make it as easy as possible to film and create professional looking videos by themselves, whenever they want.
Let's talk about what that looks like for you.
many brands, entrepreneurs and
businesses really struggle with
video creation, they either
avoid it altogether, or they
wait and obsess for things to be
perfect to hire a film crew to
make the most professional
video, maybe sporadically, they
insert some Instagram Stories
from their phone, or some live
streams on whatever platform
their audience is on. But it's
just that it's sporadic. It's
not consistent, and it doesn't
give them consistent results. So
there's really a place that fits
right in the middle for doing
video creation, right and doing
it professionally. And it's
something that really separates
those who stand out and grow
their business and those who
really don't, and stay
invisible. I call those who fit
right in the middle solo
creators. These are the ones who
make it as easy as possible to
create professional looking
videos whenever they want by
themselves. So let's talk about
what it looks like do this. In
order to create professional
looking videos by yourself from
the comfort of your own home or
office, then it comes down to
really focusing on eliminating
the barriers between your
environment, your technology,
and your mindset. If you're not
creating video content,
especially consistently, it's
often because one or all three
of these items are getting in
your way, and not allowing you
and giving you that permission
to show up consistently with
video. So the first big barrier
that's environment, whether it's
an office in your home, or at
your workspace, or at a co
working space, a coffee shop,
you got to figure out okay, what
is my ideal working space that
allows me to be the most
creative, which really means
allows me to create, create
content like video, when you can
set up your environment to
really support your wishes of
being able to make it as easy as
possible create professional
video content, then there are no
distractions, it's a dedicated
space to do just that, to work
and to create when you don't
have kids running in or you
don't have musical instruments
in maybe TV in the room, things
that serve an second purpose. I
remember when I first started
working from home, as I started
to moonlight my business and
eventually went full time.
During this about a year about
two years really, I had put my
office right next to my bed in
our master bedroom. And it was
when I say office, I literally
mean in the corner of the room,
here's this desk computer on it,
that location, that room served
more than one purpose, it served
a place for us to sleep, to
access our clothing to use our
master bathroom, to then work
and record videos. So anytime I
wanted to record or create
content, I had to plan in
advance to make sure that I
didn't have distracting sounds
or activities around the home,
that would interfere, that would
distract from what I was
creating. And that oftentimes I
would work too late, I would
roll out of bed, go right to my
desk and roll into bed late at
night, when I was I just
couldn't stay awake anymore.
That's when I was just putting
away too much time. And I
recognize that Wait a minute,
it's because this this space,
this environment of mine is
serving more than one purpose.
And so when I can eliminate that
distraction, and that barrier of
having one just one dedicated
space for one purpose, then I
can create more freely without
excuses. And that's what then
moving allowed us to do, we were
able to find a place that had a
dedicated room, all to be my
office all to create an
environment that I could create
videos whenever I want. And that
really leads me to this next
barrier, which is all about
technology. So technology is a
big thing for people because
they often don't give themselves
enough credit that they have
their phone on them, which is an
amazing camera to capture great
looking professional looking
video content whenever they
want. And many do right many
jump on to Instagram, to tik tok
to YouTube stories to whatever
platform you're adding things
out on and create that kind of
content or
use the webcam from their
computer. But what we often find
is that those who want to level
up their game or those who just
want to create, they often do
use that excuse that well. You
know, I don't have the right
camera or I don't have the right
microphone or the right lighting
to really set myself up to look
professional. And oftentimes
that does hold many
entrepreneurs and brands back
from creating consistent video
content. There are three easy
solutions to solving for having
technology set up in your
business. They just kind of
mentioned them a second ago
where it's your camera. It's
your lighting, and it's your
audio. So having a quality
microphone, I would say is the
first focus, people need to be
able to hear what you're saying,
hear the message. And then a
quality camera is the next one
where that way you can capture a
great looking image of you,
oftentimes, your phone can start
as that solution. And there are
different apps that we can
recommend down below that allow
you to really customize the
settings even more than say,
just the default camera app on
your phone, I would recommend
that you jump into DSLRs. And
other cameras like that, that
also allow you like what I'm
doing with this camera is I can
literally connect it as a webcam
into my computer, and record
videos beyond just the camera
and record it directly to
computer. If I'm doing client
calls, if I'm doing trainings,
it is really helpful to look
professional. And it only takes
a few buttons. It's always set
up in my office. And it's a part
of just the setup. And then the
third item is lighting and
having first a window source is
the best lighting, it's often
called a key light, which is the
one that lights up your face.
And I also have a big soft box
above me right here that allows
for that to always be ready. And
it's always right plugged in
already, I literally have a
remote that I can turn it on and
off. I'll show you that right
now. This remote here, this
light is not super expensive,
you can literally just have a
switch next to you, but allows
me to turn it on and off. I turn
on the camera back there, this
microphone is always on this
table, and I'm ready to record
and technology is no longer an
issue environments no longer an
issue. But the biggest barrier,
which is an internal barrier is
mindset. Many people find that
when they go to pull out their
phone and record their next
video that they know they need
to record. They're at a loss as
to what to say. They don't know
what message will be most
powerful for the audience
they're speaking to, or if they
do and they're like, Yeah, I
know what to say. But there's
often another barrier where it's
like, well, if I say this will
people actually want to listen
to me, I'm not the best looking
person, or I may not have the
right hair, makeup or wardrobe
or environment, whatever it may
be. All these little barriers
are stopping us from simply
hitting record and sharing our
message figure out for you among
technology, environment and
mindset. What are one or all
three of these barriers that are
getting in my way from creating
content, and to make
professional content, it
includes the solving of the
resolution of each of these
barriers. Because technology
Yes, like visually, with the
better camera, better lighting,
better microphone, it can sound
and look more professional. But
then your mindset, having
clarity, and confidence in the
message you're delivering comes
out through your ability to
master your mindset when it
comes to video creation, and
then your environment that adds
to your confidence, but also
adds to professionalism. You can
set up your background in a way
that represents your brand and
your preferences, your favorite
things that really fit your
interests. And that can be a
part of this process as well.
Whatever it may be for you let
me know in the comments down
below what barrier is your
biggest one right now that you
love to software first, and then
move on to the next one if there
is a second or a third one. And
in doing so I guarantee that
without fail, you can easily
create consistent video content
in your business to help you
stand out and grow it. One bonus
tip I would recommend is to set
up an accountability system,
which simply just means put a
reoccurring time in your
schedule to record content but
first and facts to first plan
and then record and then create
if you have to edit or handoff
those video files to an editor
and other marketing team members
or in fact hire from our
marketplace or create a
marketplace that contents by
calm allows you to get all a
cart requested. You can order
video scripted rewritten, you
can order a film shoot to happen
you can order a video edit to
happen or simply a consulting
call to figure out what is my
right direction.
How can I solve for all three of
these barriers in my business?
And in doing so again, you can
consistently show up and create
content whenever you want, and
only takes a matter of seconds.
Kind of like what my setup does.
I show people now all the time.
With about three clicks I can
have the camera rolling and
ready to share a message as long
as they're put in the effort
beforehand to know what I'm
going to say and you can do so
with confidence. Well thanks for
watching and I hope you found
this valuable and we look
forward to hearing more on
