Studies Weekly, a renowned provider of K–8 core curriculum materials in social studies, science, and wellness, partnered with our team to develop an engaging and interactive video resource. This project aimed to create an animated video that would enhance students' learning experiences by providing an illustrated preview of World and American History.
Objectives
- Develop a visually compelling educational video using animation techniques.
- Ensure the content aligns with Studies Weekly’s educational standards.
- Create a tool that teachers can use flexibly in the classroom without subtitles, allowing for personalized narration.
Process and Execution
- Initial Consultation: Our team held in-depth discussions with Studies Weekly to understand their educational goals and specific requirements. This phase included identifying the key historical events and themes to be covered.
- Creative Development: Jared Erickson, our lead animator and video editor, spearheaded the creative development process. He worked closely with Studies Weekly’s educational experts to ensure the content was accurate and aligned with their curriculum standards.
- Animation and Editing: Jared and his team employed advanced animation techniques, including photo parallax effects, to bring historical images to life. This approach created a dynamic and engaging visual experience that maintained a focus on historical events.
- Feedback and Iteration: The draft video was reviewed by Studies Weekly’s team, and feedback was incorporated to refine the final product. This collaborative approach ensured the video met all educational and visual standards.
- Final Delivery: The completed video was delivered in a format optimized for classroom use, seamlessly integrating into Studies Weekly’s existing online learning platform.
